Ms. Gorbea is an active advocate of entrepreneurism, local industry development and innovation. Ms. Gorbea directed the Puerto Rico's Chamber of Commerce Technology Committee for seven years and since 2005 serves on the Board of Directors of the Puerto Rico's Products Association. At the Women's Business Institute she volunteers as resident expert in technology on the organization's bi-monthly business forum and was selected as Business Woman of the year on 2006.
Ms. Gorbea is a frequent collaborator in government economic development initiatives, representing the technology sector as well as being a voice of small businesses.
Ms. Gorbea has a Masters in Cultural Anthropology and is nearing completion of a doctoral degree in Applied Anthropology both from Stanford University. She has a Bachelor degrees in Anthropology and in Fine Arts from Washington University in St. Louis.
